Emanuel: please come onto IRC, so we can help you debug it in realtime. For compiling, were you using svn, or the released source code?

For the OpenSuse problem, please contact the person that made the opensuse rpms and tell them about it.

Hi!

I'm trying to install synfig. I use OpenSuse 10.2. I've downloaded the packages for Suse, and it didn't work, asks a lots of files.

Then, I'm trying to install compilling, but when I use ./configure, it stop asking for libxml++. I have it (version 2.6), and it keeps asking, stopping the installation. What am I doing wrong?

Tks

I just wish you'd let me (and other people that would express their interest through a sign-up box) know when a beta version would be out.
I tried a couple of times to install synfig and given the fact that I couldn't I felt it was a sign that I wasn't ready for the developer's preview.
it looks really nice and I'd love to help the project out but I just recently finished my “Hello World” program in C++ so I guess it'll be a while before I can dedicate myself to some project like this one.
so anyways, give me the head's up if you can

i was just sitting down about to start on a parody animation project when i stumbled upon this. A free alternative to Flash i thought. Worth a try. There are many things i like better about Synfig. But most of all no more manual tweening. Rejoice! Unfortuanately, i can't seem to get my version to render my animations. this might be the program's fault but probably more likely mine. any advice?

Leo: that isn't a specific goal, really the direction it takes depends on the patches that people write for it.

Also, everyone should check out the version in SVN if they are able.

Hello!

I'm a spanish user that has no idea about compilating or building and so on... You can laugh. I'm supposed to be an artist but still just a user. Anyway, I'm quite interested in the program, looks really fine. Will I be able to use it with my limited knowledge? Got an amazin wacom tablet and I want to give it a try with this stuff. I'd help this within my possibilities...

Thank you

Pablo:

Look at the bug tracker, the wish list page on the wiki and write some patches, submit them and visit us on IRC to ask us to apply them.

Otherwise, use synfig, find some flaws and create some good animation examples.

Hello

I'm working on a series of 5 books in Dutch (for easycomputing, a Belgian publisher - that's why my English is not that good). They are meant for kids. One book will handle computeranimation. Because I only want to include "open source"tools I started looking for open source animationtools.
I downloaded Synfig for Windows after installing GTK. Now I'm struggling with a “dll-hell”. The application tells me that it doesn't find “libsynfig-0.dll”. One of my computers runs on Ubuntu... so installing Synfig on that system wouldn't be a problem. But most of my readers are Windowsusers and it would be nice if there was a (beta) Windowsbinary without those dll-problems. A book on Synfig would be very nice, I guess? Anyone who can help me?
