Page moved to the wiki: Releases/0.61.06

As usual, we need your help. If you know C++, are an artist, can document things or are willing to learn, please join the mailing lists and IRC channel and start helping out.
Be on the lookout for an announcement about an IRC & gobby meeting that will happen soon.

How's the Mac build getting along? Did someone volunteer to work on it? I can't provide any assistance since I have no experience in programming. I can't wait till a Mac version is ready, SynFig has had my attention for a while but I've never had the opportunity to test it. Would like to help a bit with the wiki and such. Talking of which will you be applying a prettier style sheet for the wiki in the future cus it's looking a bit grim at the moment.

madsen was looking at it, but then he went offline for ages. He just came online again today, so hopefully he will work on it. We need to find new hosting for the wiki and other infrastructure so that more people have access to it so they can fix things.

Yeah, I'm back on the mac-build. Sorry for leaving everyone in the dark - it won't happen again.
Yesterday I built Synfig Core and Synfig Studio on an Intel Mac (10.4.10), which turned out fine. Now I just need to figure out how to best make an app-bundle out of it. As of now, it seems that the bundle will come to a size of some 70 MB and I suspect it can be done a LOT smaller - I just don't know how.
Anyways, it's running on OS X now!

Always great to see progress being made on Synfig.
Not so sure about the icons. They are a great start but using grey for both the Gradient and the other icons means it looks confusingly like the Square. It should be possible to use a few more colours while still staying within the Tango palette. A high contrast monochrome theme would be useful though and I do hope these are just a start of new graphics for Synfig and part of a move to allowing users to use standard themes. The icon naming specification may not get the attention but in truth it is the vital technically important part of Tango as it make so much else possible.
@Madsen the linked screenshots in your comment no longer seem to be working.

@ Alan Horkan Thanks! It appears that some underscores mysteriously disappeared from between ‘osx’ and ‘new’. The working URLs are: http://lillesvin.googlepages.com/synfig-osxnew1.png and http://lillesvin.googlepages.com/synfig-osxnew2.png Don't know what happened in the paste.
And I agree with you on the square and gradient icons - they are confusingly alike. Perhaps making the gradient fade from completely black to completely white would help a little.

Why on earth do the underscores get cut out?!?
Anyways, here they are again with names without underscores this time.

Hope this works out better.

Looks promising Madsen, in all it's X11 glory hehe. Keep up the good work Madsen, same goes for the rest of the Synfig team!

Have y'all considered a possible timeline for introducing some sort of training solutions? Video tutorials for free would be great, of course, but at this time I'm particularly referring to some kind paid “in-person” training programs (twice a year, depending on interest?) that can help new people learn to use the software effectively and quickly while providing a revenue source that helps support development.
Just curious.

Is there an easy way to enable the pressure sensitive brush stroke in the windows build? I like to live dangerously.

caroonmonkey: If you mean the draw tool, see the last item in the FAQ (just updated it with a link to a page about setting environment variables on windows).

No dice with the above.

Without 'export '. That is Linux shell script syntax.

I have been keeping track of Synfig since late last year. I am a double-major in mathematics and computer science and I would be willing to help out a little bit here and there - C++ is certaintly not my perfered language, but I can work in it (I have most of my experience with java and I am a smalltalk guy at heart). I can work a bit before the summer is up and school starts again... after that I can't guarentee how much time I will be able to put towards it (unless you can give me a great year-long senior project dealing with math and computer science that I could write and contribute... that would be great!)
